A medication review provides the opportunity for you to sit down with your Murphy’s Pharmacist to review your prescription medications, as well as any over-the-counter medications, vitamins and natural health products you may be taking.

Our pharmacists will ensure you are taking the right medications for the right reasons. They will discuss what each medication is for, how best to take each medication, and how to reduce or manage any side effects you may be experiencing. They will review possible drug interactions with other drugs, natural health products and food. They will also attempt to Identify and address any problems related to specific medications.

Murphy’s Pharmacies can provide hormone consultations to educate patients concerned about hormonal changes in the body. Saliva and/or blood analyses can be conducted to find hormone levels and your Murphy’s pharmacist can review your results with recommendations for supplements and prescriptions for a patient to bring to their physician.

If you struggle with chronic pain (nerve, muscle, or joint) and find it difficult to find relief, our laboratory can offer a pain management assessment and present you with multiple options for treatment, both prescription and non-prescription.

Our compounding laboratory team can help solve these problems and others by preparing customized medications that will efficiently deliver the needed drug to the affected area. For instance, transdermal therapy, which refers to medication that is applied directly to the skin, can relieve pain, reduce inflammation and relax muscles with its biggest advantage being that it can deliver the active medical ingredients directly to the affected area. It is never too early to begin preparing for travel abroad. It can take several months to complete a series of vaccinations in preparation for travel.

Your Murphy’s Pharmacist can prescribe and administer some common travel vaccinations and other routine vaccinations. Drop in or call any of our Murphy’s pharmacies locations if you know you need vaccines or have questions about what we can give.

Taking the time to receive an in-depth consultation is recommended. Our Murphy’s travel pharmacist has obtained her Certificate in Travel Health from the International Society of Travel Medicine, so you can rest assured that you will be provided with the information and vaccines/medications you need to keep you safe during your travels.

In order to be prepared for your consultation, please bring with you: your travel itinerary including any special excursions, a list of all countries you will be visiting, the length of your trip, and any previous vaccine records.
